Developed from comprehensive research into the challenges skilled immigrants face in information accessibility, The Seeker's central mission is to consolidate essential information and resources into one easily navigable platform. We recognize the overwhelming task of sifting through information sources of varying reliability. The Seeker’s content is carefully curated, validated by experts, and always relevant and up-to-date. 

The Seeker provides Alberta-specific information and resources for establishing your career in Canada, such as guidelines for registering with the province's engineering licensing body.

The Seeker is designed to be your comprehensive, trustworthy resource, making integrating into Canadian society smoother and more empowering. 


How to Navigate The Seeker

  1. Determine Your Focus: Identify the section of The Seeker that aligns with your needs. Are you seeking general information applicable to professionals from any background, or do you fall under a specific country (Philippines, India, or Ukraine) or profession (Nursing, Information Technology, or School Teaching)?

  2. Explore Relevant Sections: Once you have determined your focus, explore the corresponding section of The Seeker. For example, if you are a Filipino nurse, visit the "The Seeker: By Country & Profession" section tailored specifically for Filipino Nurses. Currently, The Seeker offers information for Filipino Nurses, Indian IT Professionals, and Ukrainian School Teachers. Click on the arrow of the Title to reveal information under that topic.

  3. Navigate Subsections: Subsections are dedicated to specific topics within each section. For instance, in the "The Seeker: General Guide" section, there are subsections for Establishing a Career in Canada, Workplace Culture & Expectations and Networking. Under these subsections, there may be further subsections, such as under “Establishing a Career in Canada”, you can find additional resources on Licensing & Re-Credentialing and Labour Market Demands. Select the subsection that pertains to your profession to access targeted information.

Access Resources: Within each subsection, an array of resources awaits, including employment guides, credentialing requirements, information on Canadian cultural workplace norms, networking advice, and job readiness and placement resources. Click on the provided links to access the relevant resources. To access the resource, click on the underlined words, and you will be redirected.
